3 days in a wonderland
She woke up by the strange voices coming from the next room. She felt anxious when she found herself lying in this unknown room. The room was minimally decorated with antique furniture. She felt that she was altogether in a different yet familiar world. She had no clue how she got here and didn’t know what to do next. She got up and was about to enter the adjacent room when the watch in her hand starts displaying the message:
“DO NOT INTERACT WITH ANYONE!”
So someone was observing her but who?
She wants to escape from this room. The idea of someone observing her was quite shocking. She immediately ran only to find a completely different world out there. She started walking down the street and looked around. The houses of bricks and mud were giving the 17th-century vibe. People were wearing traditional dresses and talking in some familiar language. The streets were narrow and the shops were open. Women were wandering around in their traditional gowns with long hanging sleeves. She was in awe by witnessing the rich Asian culture around. She was observing people and trying to remember how she reached here.
At one shop, she stopped to look at the beautiful pieces of ornaments and find a silver coin on the path. She took it and sat there in the corner of a street. She missed her home and wants to go back. She overheard someone talking about the steam engine and how it works. It clicked in her mind and reminds her of how she was working with a group of scientists and was a part of an experiment. It was a 3-day experiment in which they sent people in a different era through a time machine. She also has a watch on her fist that connects her with the team. After 3 days, the watch would automatically start beeping and she had to go back in her world. She was randomly roaming around when she saw him crying. She sat by that kid who was sobbing for a silver coin that he lost somewhere. She gave him that coin which she found on the street and tried to comfort him by hugging. She broke the only rule and as a result, her surroundings started fading away, or was she losing her power?
Then, when she again woke up, she found herself in another room. She thought that the experiment failed but she was still not home yet. This time it was an empty room with a door and a bunch of keys. A note was stick on the door that says: “Each key would open the door and let you enter a different world but whatever world you use to enter, depends entirely on your key selection.”
She took the keys and tried to steady her hands. “Just one time” she whispered to herself.
She unlocked the door with a random key and stepped inside in a vacant space and fell off. When she regained consciousness, she found herself in a dark world.
The watch displayed a message again:
“BE CAREFUL NOW!”
The air felt different here and the sky was dark purple. The specie who lived there, were strange with dark skin wearing a strange blue shiny dress. They speak an unfamiliar language. She noticed a strange thing that during the day, they seem to be blind and can’t see anything. She was sitting there when someone called her from behind. She turned around to see who was there and that’s when the watch starts beeping.
The world and the species and everything vanish away in a minute.
The next moment she opened her eyes and everything was same around her. She looked at her sister sleeping peacefully next to her. She couldn’t sleep again so started reading the prologue of the book that she kept on her side table. The book begins as:
“Three universe exists and you weren’t supposed to be in anyone of them…!”
While reading that book, she was wondering if what she felt before was a dream or a mere reality?
But who knows!
